Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for the following areas:
- Lead the finance team to provide timely delivery of accurate monthly internal reporting, quarterly external reporting, annual forecasts and budgets, periodic forecast updates, quarterly tax estimates and annual tax returns
- Provide oversight and support for the accounts payable and purchasing activities of the company
- Provide effective communication within the company regarding accounting polices, 404 controls and compliance, external financial reports, and strategic initiatives
- Maintain relationships with funding providers and rating agencies, as required, and provide timely reporting to each constituent
- Provide support for DFAST implementation
- Provide support for special projects, hands-on ad hoc requests, strategic initiatives, and merger/acquisition opportunities
- On-going review of accounting procedures, systems, and processes to ensure efficiency and implementation of best practices
- Maintain relationships with lines of business to provide appropriate information to assist in achievement of company goals
- Hire, supervise, evaluate mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Keep abreast of industry changes and regulatory requirements and oversee and/or assist with examinations conducted by auditors and regulatory agencies
- Able to organize and prioritize workload

Qualifications
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each function satisfactorily and be highly competent in communicating, leading, problem solving and team building
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Finance or Accounting and 10+ years of experience in accounting and finance and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in a management role required
- Proficiency of utilizing Word and Excel
- Possess required technical skills in area of accounting
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, financial reports, legal documents, technical procedures, and government regulations
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Demonstrate common sense and logic in day-to-day activities
- Demonstrate original thinking and willingness to make decisions
