A growing financial institution is seeking to hire a Credit Analyst for our commercial loan department. This position is located in Salem, OR or can be remote.  We offer competitive pay and excellent benefits.

Position Summary:
  • §  This is a high visibility position; as credit administration is an integral part of the commercial lending team at the bank, and the position plays a key role in assessing commercial loan risk and processing loans

  • §  Responsibilities include the analysis of commercial real estate (CRE) and commercial & industrial (C&I) loans

  • §  Independently write credit approvals for new requests & renewals.  Perform annual reviews of credit relationships and covenant testing in accordance with the Bank’s loan policy

  • §  Review collateral documentation as appropriate for various loan types

Duties include:
  • §  Prepare credit presentations for loan approvals in accordance with loan policy

  • §  Spread and analyze relevant financial data, including tax returns/financial statements of businesses and personal guarantors including borrower prepared projections

  • §  Identify potential areas of risk, assess repayment ability, examine cash flow (stand alone and global), and adequacy of collateral

  • §  Perform appraisal reviews and internal evaluations where applicable

  • §  Perform appropriate market, industry and economic analysis as well as obtain credit reports on new and existing customers

  • §  Assist in identifying loan policy exceptions during underwriting

  • §  Aid with the training and development of less experienced credit analysts or loan officers

Qualifications:
  • §  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance (or equivalent experience) 

  • §  2+ years of loan assistant experience at a financial institution highly desirable

  • §  Experience with both CRE and C&I underwriting

  • §  Capable of multi-tasking, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines

  • §  Strong understanding and knowledge of financial statements and tax returns

  • §  Demonstrated ability to write concise financial analysis and credit approvals

  • §  Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills

  • §  Exposure to collateral analysis and a basic understanding of the appraisal review process

  • §  Basic knowledge of commercial loan documentation and regulatory compliance requirements

  • §  Ability to work independently and interact in a team environment
