Inventory Control Specialist

The Inventory Control Specialist will maintain the organization and accuracy of records for all incoming and outgoing product inventory. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, detail-oriented, and engaged. The Inventory Control specialist must always be committed to working safely and in accordance with the company's policies and procedures. The inventory control specialist must work in compliance with state and city rules and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and delivered.
  • Package orders for delivery efficiency.
  • Effectively utilize different software systems to transfer and input inventory.
  • Assist with physical inventory audits (cycle counts).
  • Responsible for ensuring that inventory organization methods like FIFO are standard practices or being implemented.
  • Investigates discrepancies in inventory
  • Subject matter expert for use of internal and external facing systems; Excel Reports
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting wasted, defective, and expired product, including follow up with purchasing to obtain vendor credits and with accounting to properly record shrinkage costs.
  • Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory
  • Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies
  • Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance, price, and cost.
  • Prepares reports such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.
  • Stocks and issues materials or merchandise.
  • Utilize the existing inventory tracking system, as well as suggesting and working on improvements to the system, to optimize inventory control procedures.
  • Forecast inventory needs to avoid inefficiencies or excessive surplus.
  • Responsible for maintaining accuracy of expiration dates on all products in POS system.
  • Responsible for interfacing with purchasing and accounting to process and apply vendor credits.
  • Responsible for tracking and processing vendor credits, terms, and invoice adjustments to ensure that payments to vendors are complete, timely, and accurate.
  • Responsible for entering discounts and monitoring supply levels for vendor promotions and takeover days.
  • Perform other related duties as required by manager.
Skills and Knowledge
  • An associate degree or the equivalent relevant experience is required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Good working knowledge of cannabis industry safety practices and compliance rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience as an inventory control specialist working in the cannabis industry
  • 2-5 years’ experience as an inventory control specialist (any industry).
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Valid California Driver's License.
  • Ability to follow procedures and prevent errors.
  • Flexible schedule. Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Experience using ERP systems to manage inventory.
  • Ability to pass all required reference and background checks required by the company and mandated by the State of California.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to multitask and time manage.
  • Strong attention to detail, intermediate math skills, good communication skills
  • Must be able to adapt to a changing work environment.
.Physical Demands
  • Some lifting, squatting, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis without assistance.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work schedule.
  • Ability to use computer and calculator for 8 hours or more.
