Special Assets Officer

We are looking for somebody innovative, skilled, and detail-oriented to join our Special Assets team! In this role, you'll be responsible for supporting the Senior Vice President of Special Assets and Wholesale Lending in decision-making processes. The Bank's Special Asset portfolio collateral includes commercial real estate, agricultural properties, perishable inventory, processing facilities and a small number of consumer loans. Wholesale Lending consists of Shared National Credits and other loans acquired, with training provided by SVP.

Responsibilities Include

Special Assets:

  • Prepare impairment analysis workbook monthly
  • Request updated appraisal evaluations on real estate properties, inventory, and equipment as applicable
  • Detailed analysis of financial statements to identify, interpret and explain root cause of trends in operating performance, financial condition and cash flow as these items relate to credit risk
  • Prepare quarterly Asset Quality Reports
  • Responsible for appraisal monitoring for the adversely risk rated assets
  • Orders and reviews Loan Servicing collection process for reinstatements, pay-offs, litigation, bankruptcy
  • Understand loan documentation by loan type, including default provision, covenants, etc.
  • Prepare Needs List, Notices of Intent and certified mailings on delinquent loans
  • Prepare documentation for submission to the foreclosure service
  • Assemble all documentation for outside counsel on all legal issues
  • Prepare monthly SAD recovery report
  • Maintain SAD database of critical actions, including projected resolution dates

 Wholesale Lending:

  • Maintain targeted marketing database by direct institutional contact and broker contacts for weekly review
  • Standardized analytical template development, to include acquisition offer letters, due diligence/closing /post-closing checklists, weekly status reports with responsible parties within and outside of the department, process management
  • Existing Shared National Credit quarterly analysis

  • College degree with a focus on finance or accounting preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of direct Special Asset support experience
  • Ability to critically think and define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions, with support for same
  • Experience with Credit Quest desired, but not required
  • Advanced skills utilizing Microsoft Excel with experience in Outlook, Work and PowerPoint
