Position Summary

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a key role in coordinating and supporting all phases of construction projects, from pre-construction through closeout. Working closely with the Project Manager and field teams, the APM will assist with scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, documentation, and quality control. This position requires a high degree of organization, technical skill, and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in planning, execution, and closeout of projects within budget and schedule.

  • Assist with project documentation including contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, meeting minutes, and daily reports.

  • Collaborate with field teams and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate communication of project goals and deliverables.

  • Monitor and track project schedules, budgets, and procurement to anticipate and resolve issues proactively.

  • Help manage relationships with clients, design professionals, consultants, and suppliers.

  • Support jobsite safety programs and ensure adherence to all company and regulatory safety requirements.

  • Contribute to project meetings, prepare documentation, and follow up on action items as needed.

  • Participate in value engineering and cost control efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in a construction project management support role (internships and co-ops considered).

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, documentation, and terminology.

  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar).

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving project demands.

  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and strong attention to detail.
