Lead the Process. Own the Details. Build Something Worth Talking About!

Some people see a construction project as a collection of schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and deadlines. You see the bigger picture. You understand that successful projects require strong leadership, thoughtful planning, sharp financial instincts, and the ability to keep everyone moving in the same direction. If you enjoy taking an idea from the drawing board to the final walkthrough, this could be your next great opportunity!

We are looking for a motivated, organized, and forward-thinking Assistant Project Manager / Project Manager to join a growing construction team in Raleigh, NC. This is an opportunity for someone who knows how to balance the big-picture vision with the day-to-day details that keep projects on track. Whether you're an experienced Project Manager ready to take ownership or an ambitious Assistant PM looking to step into a larger role, we want someone who brings energy, accountability, and a genuine passion for construction.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manage and coordinate construction projects from preconstruction and planning through execution, completion, and final closeout.

  • Work closely with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure everyone is aligned and working toward common goals.

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, budgets, cost reports, and production expectations.

  • Assist with estimating, bidding, procurement, subcontractor negotiations, and buyout activities.

  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, submittals, RFIs, and change orders to identify potential challenges before they become costly surprises.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, materials, equipment, and manpower to maintain productivity and keep projects moving forward.

  • Monitor project costs, track commitments, evaluate budget variances, and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.

  • Lead project meetings, communicate updates, document action items, and hold project participants accountable for their responsibilities.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, schedules, and financial records.

  • Proactively identify potential delays, scope gaps, and construction issues while developing practical solutions.

  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and professionalism throughout every phase of construction.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project partners.

  • Support field leadership and collaborate with Superintendents to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.

  • Take ownership of project milestones, manage competing priorities, and keep the entire team focused on successful delivery.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in commercial construction project management, ideally as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, or similar role.

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, budgeting, estimating, contracts, and project coordination.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without losing sight of the details.

  • Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Financial awareness with the ability to monitor budgets, track costs, and understand project profitability.

  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office; experience with Procore is a plus.

  • A proactive mindset and the confidence to address challenges, ask questions, and make informed decisions.

  • Someone who values accountability, takes pride in their work, and understands that successful projects are built through collaboration.

The Personality We're After:

We're looking for someone who doesn't wait for problems to find them. You anticipate, communicate, organize, and execute. You're comfortable working with different personalities, know how to keep conversations productive, and understand that a successful project takes more than a good set of plans.

You bring a combination of confidence and curiosity. You're detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture, professional without being afraid to roll up your sleeves, and driven without sacrificing teamwork. Most importantly, you take ownership and enjoy seeing a project come together because of the effort you put into it.

Compensation:

$90,000–$120,000 annually

If you're ready to take the next step in your construction career, contribute to meaningful projects, and work alongside a team that values strong leadership and getting things done right, let's talk!
