C&I Commercial Lender
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Salary: $150,000–$230,000+
Build Relationships. Grow the Portfolio. Make an Impact.
We are seeking an experienced C&I Commercial Lender to join a high-performing banking team in Phoenix. This is an opportunity for a seasoned commercial banking professional who knows how to identify opportunity, build meaningful client relationships, structure sophisticated credit, and grow a profitable portfolio without losing sight of the people behind the numbers.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of Commercial & Industrial lending, a proven history of business development, and the confidence to sit across the table from business owners, executives, CFOs, and key decision-makers. You should be comfortable finding opportunities, asking the right questions, understanding the full financial picture, and delivering financing solutions that genuinely fit the client's business.
This is not a passive portfolio-management seat. We are looking for a relationship builder and revenue producer who enjoys being in the market, developing new business, expanding existing relationships, and becoming a trusted financial resource for commercial clients.
What You’ll Do
-
Develop, manage, and expand a portfolio of C&I commercial relationships.
-
Proactively identify and pursue new commercial lending opportunities throughout the Phoenix market.
-
Build long-term relationships with business owners, executives, CFOs, controllers, and other key decision-makers.
-
Structure, negotiate, and present commercial credit facilities while balancing client needs with sound credit principles.
-
Analyze financial statements, cash flow, balance sheets, tax returns, debt structures, and overall business performance.
-
Evaluate working capital, lines of credit, term loans, equipment financing, owner-occupied real estate, acquisition financing, and other commercial credit needs.
-
Partner closely with Credit, Treasury Management, Deposit, and other internal teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.
-
Expand relationships through deposits, treasury services, cash management, and additional banking products.
-
Maintain a disciplined pipeline and consistently identify opportunities for portfolio growth.
-
Monitor existing relationships, recognize emerging risks, and ensure appropriate credit administration.
-
Prepare and present credit requests with thoughtful analysis, clear recommendations, and strong supporting documentation.
-
Participate in local business and community activities to strengthen market visibility and generate meaningful referrals.
-
Maintain a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and integrity with clients and internal partners.
-
Serve as a trusted advisor rather than simply a source of capital.
What We’re Looking For
-
Proven experience in C&I commercial lending and relationship management.
-
Demonstrated success developing new commercial business and growing a profitable loan portfolio.
-
Strong understanding of commercial credit analysis, underwriting, loan structuring, and risk management.
-
Ability to independently manage complex relationships and navigate sophisticated financial conversations.
-
Strong financial statement and cash-flow analysis skills.
-
Excellent business development, networking, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
-
A genuine relationship-first approach with the confidence to ask for the business.
-
Strong knowledge of commercial banking products, treasury services, and business financial needs.
-
Ability to balance aggressive growth objectives with disciplined credit judgment.
-
Established relationships within the Phoenix business community are highly desirable.
-
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred.
