The Opportunity

As a Commercial Lender, you will serve as a key financial partner for small to mid-sized businesses across a variety of industries. You’ll play a critical role in sourcing, structuring, negotiating, and managing a portfolio of commercial loan relationships—while also delivering an exceptional client experience that reflects our core values. What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and cultivate new commercial banking relationships, including CRE, C&I, SBA, and owner-occupied lending opportunities.

• Assess creditworthiness and structure loan packages that align with clients’ business goals while adhering to risk and regulatory guidelines.

• Maintain and grow an active loan portfolio, ensuring high performance, timely renewals, and minimal delinquency or credit loss.

• Act as a trusted advisor by offering insights, solutions, and tailored financial products that support business growth and financial health.

• Partner with internal credit, underwriting, and operations teams to ensure smooth and efficient loan processing from origination to closing.

• Engage with the local business community, attend networking events, and represent the bank at relevant industry functions to enhance visibility and generate leads.

What We’re Looking For

• A proven track record in commercial lending, typically 5+ years of experience in a bank or credit union environment.

• Deep knowledge of commercial credit analysis, loan structuring, and financial statement review.

• Strong understanding of local markets and industries in the San Antonio region.

• Exceptional interpersonal and business development skills—you are a connector, problem-solver, and financial strategist all in one.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and highly collaborative environment.

• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
