Commercial Lender
Location: Portland, OR
Compensation: $120,000–$180,000 base salary plus incentive compensation
Position Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Commercial Lender who thrives at the intersection of relationship building and disciplined credit execution. This role is ideal for a lender who understands the Portland market, values long-term partnerships, and approaches lending as both a craft and a responsibility. You will originate, structure, and manage commercial loans while serving as a trusted financial advisor to a diverse portfolio of business clients.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, grow, and manage a portfolio of commercial relationships, including C&I, owner-occupied and investor real estate, and specialty lending as appropriate

Source new business through proactive calling, networking, and community engagement

Structure credit facilities that balance client needs with sound risk management and profitability

Prepare and present clear, well-supported credit packages for approval

Monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging risks, and take timely action

Partner closely with credit, underwriting, treasury, and operations teams to deliver a seamless client experience

Maintain strong knowledge of market trends, competitive products, and regulatory expectations

Represent the institution professionally within the Portland business community
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field; equivalent experience considered

5+ years of commercial lending or relationship management experience

Proven track record of business development and portfolio growth

Strong credit analysis and loan structuring skills

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities

Deep familiarity with the Portland and greater Pacific Northwest market preferred
