Credit Officer

Compensation: $160,000–$200,000
Position Summary
The Credit Officer is responsible for evaluating, approving, and managing credit risk within the bank’s commercial lending portfolio. This role supports portfolio growth by ensuring credit decisions are sound, well-structured, and aligned with the bank’s credit policy, regulatory requirements, and strategic objectives. The Credit Officer works closely with Relationship Managers, Credit Administration, and executive leadership to facilitate timely, high-quality credit decisions.
Key Responsibilities

Review, analyze, and approve commercial credit requests including C&I, owner-occupied and non-owner-occupied commercial real estate, and complex lending relationships.

Prepare and review comprehensive credit memoranda that clearly present financial analysis, risk assessment, structure, and mitigants.

Partner with lending teams to structure transactions that balance growth, risk, and profitability.

Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, underwriting standards, and applicable regulatory guidelines.

Monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging risks, and recommend proactive risk management strategies.

Participate in credit committees and provide clear, well-reasoned recommendations.

Support ongoing enhancement of credit policies, procedures, and portfolio management practices.

Assist with regulatory exams, audits, and internal reviews as needed.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or credit training preferred.

10+ years of commercial credit experience within a banking or financial institution.

Strong knowledge of commercial lending, financial statement analysis, cash flow evaluation, and collateral assessment.

Proven ability to evaluate complex credit structures and exercise sound credit judgment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working with senior leadership and lending teams in a growth-oriented environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary ranging from $160,000 to $200,000, plus bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package.
