This is more than crunching numbers and chasing bids. You’ll play a key role in helping bring projects to life from the very beginning, working alongside project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and leadership to put together accurate, competitive, and thoughtful estimates.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents to understand the full scope of work.
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other project expenses.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze project requirements.
• Work closely with project management and operations teams to develop competitive bids.
• Research pricing, materials, labor costs, and market conditions.
• Identify potential cost concerns, scope gaps, and opportunities before they become problems.
• Maintain organized estimating records and documentation.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Help develop winning bids while keeping accuracy and profitability front and center.
• Jump in, collaborate, problem-solve, and keep things moving when deadlines get tight.

WHO YOU ARE

You’re analytical without being robotic. Organized without needing everything labeled in neon. You’re comfortable with numbers, but you’re also comfortable talking with people.

You might already have estimating experience, or you may be someone with construction experience who is ready to take the next step into the office and preconstruction side of the business.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Comfortable reading construction plans and specifications.
• Strong with numbers, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
• Confident communicating with vendors, subcontractors, and teammates.
• Comfortable working independently while still being a team player.
• Able to manage multiple estimates and deadlines without losing the plot.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Familiar with estimating software, takeoff programs, or construction management platforms is a plus.
• Experienced in construction, estimating, project coordination, or a related field preferred.

COMPENSATION

$60,000–$80,000 annually, depending on experience.
