What You'll Be Doing

Mastering the Numbers

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates from plans and specifications.
• Analyze project documents to identify scope requirements, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop competitive bids while maintaining profitability targets.
• Review subcontractor and supplier proposals for accuracy and completeness.
• Build and maintain estimate databases and historical cost records.

Collaborating Like a Pro

• Work closely with project managers, superintendents, owners, architects, and engineers.
• Participate in bid reviews and strategy meetings.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and value engineering efforts.
• Support project teams during handoff to ensure smooth project execution.

Thinking Beyond the Spreadsheet

• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities before construction begins.
• Evaluate market trends and material pricing fluctuations.
• Recommend innovative solutions that improve efficiency and project outcomes.
• Continuously refine estimating processes and best practices.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial, civil, concrete, or general construction environments.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project sequencing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication abilities and confidence presenting estimates.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a relentless commitment to accuracy.
