Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team and play a key role in the pursuit of heavy civil projects including roadways, bridges, utilities, earthwork, and other infrastructure developments. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates by analyzing drawings, specifications, and other documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed and organized cost estimates for heavy civil projects from conceptual through final design.

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine labor, material, and equipment needs.

• Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure complete coverage and competitive pricing.

• Perform quantity take-offs using digital tools and software.

• Identify and assess project risks, schedule constraints, and cost drivers.

• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and field teams to ensure alignment of estimates with execution strategy.

• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as needed.

• Maintain historical cost data and support continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools.

• Stay current on industry trends, construction methods, and local market conditions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.

• Strong knowledge of civil construction means, methods, and materials.

• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Agtek, or similar).

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple estimates under tight deadlines.

• Familiarity with DOT and public works bidding processes is a plus.
