Estimator/Project Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator/Project Manager to oversee and manage construction projects from start to finish. This individual will play a key role in estimating project costs, managing budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time, and maintaining quality control standards. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, an in-depth understanding of construction processes, and the ability to coordinate teams and resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Estimation:

    • Review project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and other project resources.
    • Gather and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Analyze drawings, documents, and proposals to ensure all costs are accounted for.
    • Prepare detailed estimates and bids for review by clients or senior management.
    • Identify potential risks or challenges that may affect project costs and timelines.
  2. Project Management:

    • Oversee all stages of the construction project lifecycle, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
    • Develop and manage project schedules and timelines, making adjustments as necessary.
    • Coordinate and supervise teams, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and building codes.
    • Provide regular updates to stakeholders, clients, and senior management on project status, including timelines, budgets, and potential issues.
  3. Budget & Cost Control:

    • Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring costs remain within approved limits.
    • Track and report on project expenses, including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
    • Process change orders and claims in accordance with contract terms.
  4. Communication & Collaboration:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
    • Ensure smooth communication and coordination across all project teams.
    • Prepare and review contracts, purchase orders, and other legal documents.
  5. Quality Assurance & Risk Management:

    • Ensure quality control procedures are followed throughout the project.
    • Identify and mitigate project risks, and develop contingency plans.
    • Resolve any conflicts or disputes that arise during the course of the project.
  6. Post-Project Completion:

    • Conduct project close-out procedures, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed.
    • Perform final inspections and ensure that all punch list items are resolved.
    • Provide a final project report, including financial summaries and project performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as an Estimator or Project Manager in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or similar.
  • LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable building practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
