Jr Commercial Relationship Manager
Coeur d’Alene, ID
???? $110,000 - $140,000 Base Salary + Potential Incentive Compensation
Build Relationships. Understand Business. Grow With Purpose.
If you’re a commercially minded banking professional who understands that great lending starts with great relationships, this is an opportunity worth putting at the top of your list.
We are seeking a Jr. Commercial Relationship Manager to join a high-performing banking team in beautiful Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious commercial banking professional who has developed a strong foundation in credit, lending, financial analysis, and client service and is ready to take the next step toward owning and growing a commercial portfolio.
This role sits at the intersection of relationship management, business development, credit, and strategic financial guidance. You’ll work closely with experienced Relationship Managers, credit partners, and banking specialists while developing the knowledge, confidence, and client relationships needed to become a highly trusted commercial banking advisor.
The Opportunity
As a Jr. Commercial Relationship Manager, you’ll help manage and expand relationships with business owners, executives, and commercial clients. You’ll learn the business behind the balance sheet, understand what keeps your clients moving forward, and help connect them with lending, deposit, treasury, and other financial solutions that genuinely fit their needs.
This is not a “sell a product and move on” position. The goal is to become a trusted financial partner who understands a client's business, industry, goals, challenges, and long-term growth strategy.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Develop and maintain meaningful commercial banking relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Assist with the management and growth of a commercial loan and deposit portfolio.
- Analyze business financial statements, cash flow, balance sheets, income statements, tax returns, and other financial information.
- Assist in evaluating credit requests and developing well-supported lending recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to deepen relationships through commercial lending, deposits, treasury management, and other banking solutions.
- Partner with senior Relationship Managers and internal credit teams on complex transactions.
- Participate in client and prospect calls, relationship reviews, business development activities, and community events.
- Develop a strong understanding of commercial credit policies, lending structures, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor portfolio performance and proactively identify potential credit or relationship concerns.
- Prepare and present financial and credit information clearly and professionally.
- Work closely with underwriting, credit administration, loan operations, treasury management, and other internal partners to deliver a seamless client experience.
- Build a strong referral network and actively contribute to business development efforts.
- Stay current on market conditions, industry trends, banking products, and economic factors that affect commercial clients.
- Become increasingly independent in managing relationships and making sound business recommendations.
What Makes You a Great Fit
We’re looking for someone who combines financial intelligence with genuine relationship-building ability. You don’t need to know everything on day one. You do need the curiosity, judgment, work ethic, and commercial instincts to keep learning.
The ideal candidate brings:
- 3+ years of banking, commercial lending, credit analysis, portfolio management, or related financial services experience.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and commercial credit.
- Knowledge of commercial lending products, including C&I, commercial real estate, lines of credit, term loans, and related solutions.
- Understanding of cash flow analysis, collateral, guarantor support, debt service coverage, leverage, and overall credit risk.
- Strong business development and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- A consultative approach to working with business owners and decision-makers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
- Confidence working with clients and internal stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline preferred.
A Career With Room to Grow
This position is designed for someone who wants more than a job title. It is an opportunity to build the expertise and relationships that can lead to a long-term career in commercial banking.
You’ll gain exposure to increasingly sophisticated credit opportunities, business development strategies, portfolio management, and relationship leadership. With the right performance and ambition, this role can become a launchpad toward a full Commercial Relationship Manager position and beyond.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
Coeur d’Alene offers an outstanding backdrop for a career in commercial banking, but the real draw is the opportunity to become deeply connected to the local business community. You’ll work with established businesses, entrepreneurs, and growing companies while helping clients make informed financial decisions and pursue meaningful opportunities.
We’re looking for someone who is knowledgeable but hungry to learn, analytical but personable, competitive but collaborative, and ambitious without losing sight of the client.
If you’re ready to take your commercial banking career to the next level and want a role where your expertise, relationships, and ideas can make a measurable impact, this could be your next big move. ????????
