Jr Estimator
Spanish Fork, Utah | $65,000–$90,000 + Benefits
Build the Numbers Behind the Build
If you have a sharp eye for detail, enjoy solving problems, and get a little satisfaction from turning a stack of plans into a clean, accurate estimate, this could be your next big opportunity.
We are looking for a Jr. Estimator to join a growing construction team in Spanish Fork, Utah. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career in construction estimating, learn from experienced industry professionals, and play an important role in winning work that eventually becomes something you can point to and say, “I helped price that.”
You will work alongside experienced estimators, project managers, vendors, and operations teams to help develop competitive, accurate, and thoughtful estimates. From reviewing plans and specifications to gathering subcontractor and material pricing, your work will help shape projects from the very beginning.
This isn't a role where you'll simply push numbers around a spreadsheet. You'll learn why the numbers matter, how construction projects come together, and how great estimating creates the foundation for successful projects.
What You'll Do
- Assist with preparing detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, bids, and proposals for construction projects.
- Review architectural, structural, civil, and project documents to understand scope, materials, quantities, and requirements.
- Perform accurate material and labor takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Help solicit, organize, and compare pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Assist senior estimators with developing detailed cost estimates and bid proposals.
- Track vendor and subcontractor quotes and identify pricing discrepancies or scope gaps.
- Maintain organized estimating files, bid documentation, spreadsheets, and supporting information.
- Research material costs, labor requirements, equipment needs, and other project-related expenses.
- Assist in identifying potential risks, exclusions, inconsistencies, and opportunities within bid documents.
- Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing and clarify scope.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, project walkthroughs, and estimating discussions as needed.
- Work closely with project management and operations teams to ensure estimates accurately reflect project requirements.
- Help ensure bids are complete, competitive, accurate, and submitted on time.
- Continue developing knowledge of construction means, methods, materials, production rates, and industry pricing.
- Learn from experienced estimators and progressively take ownership of more complex estimating responsibilities.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is hungry to learn, naturally curious, organized, and comfortable working with numbers. Construction experience is highly valued, but we're also open to candidates with estimating, engineering, project coordination, construction management, or related experience who are ready to take the next step.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 1+ years of construction, estimating, project engineering, or related experience preferred.
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- The ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications, or a strong desire to learn.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A willingness to ask questions, learn quickly, and take ownership.
- A team-first attitude and professional approach.
- The ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance.
A Great Place to Grow
This is an opportunity to learn the estimating business from the ground up. You'll be surrounded by experienced construction professionals who understand that great estimators aren't built overnight. You'll gain exposure to real projects, real budgets, real negotiations, and the decisions that determine whether a project is successfully won and executed.
For the right person, this position can become the launchpad for a long-term career path toward Estimator, Senior Estimator, Preconstruction Manager, or Project Manager.

$65,000–$90,000 salary
Strong growth and advancement potential
