Lab Director

Job Description

• Create a winning team in the Laboratory
• Oversee hiring, training and development of Lab Team
• Invest in team to help them grow as leaders and scientists
• Collaborate with GC Leadership to oversee hiring and team building
• Evaluate all lab processes to maximize efficiency, accuracy, and cleanliness
• Oversee day to day operations of Lab Facility
• Develop, update, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to promote best lab practices
• Ensure compliance with company policies for the daily operations and fully comply with State and Federal regulations
• Develop workflow optimization and schedules ensuring high-quality yields
• Work with lab team, providing consistent oversight of lab processing procedures, ensuring standardized requirements and accuracy
• Monitor and update all necessary information in the company operating system
• Provide leadership to staff, ensuring counts are accurate and staff are performing in the most efficient manner possible
• Manage and maintain a clean, safe, cGMP work environment
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of all lab procedures and SOPs
• Work with department managers to uphold and execute SOPs
• Work with Product Development team to create new and innovative products by staying current on practices and developments in the cannabis industry
• Provide expert recommendations on specific product offerings and strategic approaches set forth by the executive team
• Assist university partners on various research projects

Requirements:

• Degree in chemistry or related field.
• Experience with or strong knowledge of CO2 extraction methods
• Experience with post extraction processing and distillation techniques
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication skills
• General knowledge of industry Laws, Regulations and Safety Procedures
