Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Low Voltage Estimator to join our growing team. This role involves working alongside our electrical estimators to develop accurate project proposals for large-scale multifamily and commercial projects. You will be responsible for estimating fire alarm and low voltage systems including area of refuge, data, voice, CATV, CCTV, card access, and more.

Using estimating software and internal processes, you'll analyze plans, determine labor and material needs, and prepare comprehensive bid packages. The position requires in-office work and reports directly to the Low Voltage Department Manager.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze blueprints and construction drawings to create accurate project estimates.

  • Review and apply relevant NFPA and IBC code requirements for fire alarm and access control systems.

  • Utilize checklists, current pricing databases, and historical data to estimate labor and materials.

  • Prepare and submit organized bid proposals including inclusions, exclusions, and pricing.

  • Develop bill of materials and labor estimates tied to work breakdown structures.

  • Coordinate with team members and vendors to gather required information for bids.

  • Submit bids and documentation in a timely and professional manner.

  • Monitor and respond to email correspondence daily.

  • Assist with documentation and coordination for awarded contracts.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience as an estimator in low voltage or related field.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction drawings.

  • Experience with Accubid or similar estimating software.

  • Knowledge of NFPA and IBC codes related to fire alarm and access control systems.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Dependable and efficient with strong attention to detail.

  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with pride in quality of work.


Compensation & Benefits
