Mechanic in Construction
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Compensation: $30–$40 per hour (DOE)

Position Overview
As a Construction Mechanic, you will inspect, maintain, and repair heavy equipment and fleet vehicles to ensure safe, reliable performance across active jobsites in Salt Lake City. Your work keeps crews protected, projects moving, and equipment operating at peak efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy construction equipment, including loaders, excavators, dozers, telehandlers, and fleet vehicles

Conduct routine safety inspections and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and eliminate hazards

Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and brake systems with accuracy and efficiency

Maintain detailed service records and compliance documentation

Partner with Superintendents and Project Managers to prioritize equipment needs

Ensure all tools, shop areas, and service trucks remain clean, organized, and OSHA compliant

Respond to field service calls when necessary
Safety Commitment
Safety is the foundation beneath every successful project. You will follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and manufacturer guidelines. Participation in safety meetings, proactive hazard identification, and immediate reporting of concerns are essential expectations of this role.
Qualifications

3+ years of experience repairing heavy construction equipment

Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems

Ability to read schematics and technical manuals

Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying weather conditions

Welding and fabrication experience a plus
