Build Stronger Relationships. Manage Risk. Deliver Results.

We’re seeking a knowledgeable, relationship-focused Portfolio Manager who understands that successful banking is about more than numbers on a spreadsheet. It’s about making sound decisions, protecting the bank’s interests, supporting clients, and maintaining a healthy, well-performing loan portfolio. This opportunity is ideal for a banking professional who combines strong analytical skills with practical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate confidently with borrowers, lenders, and internal leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor an assigned portfolio of commercial loans, evaluating borrower performance, repayment capacity, financial trends, and overall credit quality.

  • Review financial statements, tax returns, borrowing-base reports, covenant compliance, and other supporting documentation to identify potential risks and opportunities.

  • Maintain regular communication with borrowers and relationship managers to monitor business performance, address concerns, and support long-term client relationships.

  • Track loan maturities, renewals, annual reviews, covenant exceptions, and other portfolio requirements to ensure deadlines are met and documentation remains current.

  • Identify early warning signs of deteriorating credit quality and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate risk and protect the bank.

  • Prepare clear, accurate credit analyses, portfolio reports, and recommendations for management and credit approval committees.

  • Partner with commercial lenders, credit analysts, loan operations, and other internal teams to resolve issues and maintain an efficient loan management process.

  • Ensure portfolio activities comply with internal credit policies, applicable banking regulations, and established risk management standards.

  • Support loan modifications, renewals, risk-rating assessments, and problem-loan management when necessary.

  • Maintain organized credit files and accurate portfolio records while balancing competing priorities and time-sensitive requests.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience in commercial banking, loan portfolio management, credit analysis, or a related lending function.

  • A solid understanding of commercial credit, financial statement analysis, cash flow evaluation, and borrower risk assessment.

  • The ability to interpret financial information, recognize trends, ask thoughtful questions, and make well-supported recommendations.

  • Strong organizational skills and a consistent approach to documentation, follow-up, and deadline management.

  • Clear communication skills and the confidence to work with clients, lenders, credit teams, and senior leadership.

  • Sound judgment, professional integrity, and a willingness to address concerns directly rather than allow small issues to become larger problems.

  • Familiarity with banking systems, credit administration procedures, loan covenants, and portfolio monitoring practices.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to make a meaningful contribution to a commercial banking team by helping maintain portfolio quality, strengthen client relationships, and support responsible lending decisions. The right professional will appreciate a position where accuracy matters, communication counts, and thoughtful risk management is part of everyday success.

If you believe strong portfolio management means knowing the numbers, understanding the story behind them, and taking action when it matters, this could be your next career move.
