Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager
Lehi, UT | $90,000–$115,000
Build Your Next Career Move
If you’re ready to move beyond simply “helping with the project” and want a seat at the table, this could be your next opportunity. We’re looking for a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager who understands construction, enjoys solving problems, and has the drive to take on increasing responsibility.
This is a role for someone who likes having their fingerprints on a project from the early paperwork and planning stages all the way through completion. You’ll work alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and field teams to keep projects organized, moving, and profitable.
What You’ll Do
-
Support Project Managers with the day-to-day management of construction projects
-
Assist with project schedules, budgets, contracts, purchase orders, and documentation
-
Review plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project correspondence
-
Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, owners, architects, and consultants
-
Track project costs, commitments, invoices, and financial information
-
Help prepare estimates, proposals, scopes of work, and procurement packages
-
Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure critical information reaches the right people
-
Assist with project scheduling and monitor progress against established milestones
-
Participate in project meetings and help keep action items moving
-
Work closely with field leadership to identify challenges before they become expensive problems
-
Assist with change management, material procurement, and subcontractor coordination
-
Help maintain strong communication between the office and the field
-
Contribute to project closeout, punch lists, warranties, and final documentation
-
Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and continually look for ways to improve project efficiency
What Makes You a Great Fit
You’re organized without being rigid, confident without needing to be the loudest person in the room, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities without letting the details fall through the cracks.
We’re looking for someone who brings:
-
Construction experience in a Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, Assistant PM, or similar capacity
-
Strong understanding of construction processes and project documentation
-
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
-
Strong communication and organizational skills
-
Excellent attention to detail
-
Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
-
Strong problem-solving and follow-through
-
Comfort working with owners, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project-management software
-
A team-first attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed
-
A desire to grow professionally and take on greater project responsibility
Why This Opportunity?
This isn’t a role where you’ll spend your days buried in paperwork wondering if anyone remembers your name. You’ll be involved in the action.
You’ll gain exposure to the financial, operational, scheduling, contractual, and field-management sides of construction, giving you the opportunity to develop into a well-rounded construction leader.
For the right person, this position can be a launching pad toward Project Manager and beyond. If you’re ambitious, accountable, and ready to take ownership, there is room to build something much bigger than a job title.
