We are looking for a Project Manager with wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) construction experience who knows how to take a complicated project, a mountain of moving pieces, and a very real deadline, then turn it all into a successful finished product. You’ll be responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout while coordinating owners, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and internal leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of the project’s financial, contractual, administrative, and operational performance. You’ll work closely with the Superintendent and project team to establish schedules, budgets, procurement plans, subcontractor strategies, and execution plans that keep the project moving in the right direction.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Manage WWTP and heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through final completion and closeout.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, schedules, cost reports, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and project requirements with a sharp eye for details that could become expensive surprises later.
• Coordinate owners, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and internal project personnel.
• Lead project meetings and maintain clear, consistent communication with all stakeholders.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, buyout, scopes, contracts, change orders, and performance.
• Review and negotiate change orders, RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and other project documentation.
• Track project costs and identify potential budget concerns before they become budget emergencies.
• Work alongside field leadership to ensure construction activities align with the project schedule, contract requirements, quality expectations, and safety standards.
• Monitor critical milestones and help develop recovery strategies when schedules begin wandering off into the weeds.
• Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the entire construction lifecycle.
• Assist with estimating, preconstruction planning, constructability reviews, and project handoff.
• Identify risks and opportunities and communicate them proactively to leadership.
• Maintain strong owner and client relationships while representing the company professionally throughout the project.
• Participate in project closeout, punch lists, commissioning coordination, turnover, warranty documentation, and final completion.
• Mentor and support Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and other project team members as needed.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who understands that successful project management is about considerably more than moving paperwork from one pile to another.

You should have demonstrated experience managing wastewater treatment plant, water/wastewater, heavy civil, utility, or similarly complex infrastructure construction projects. You know how to read plans, understand contracts, track the money, communicate with the field, and keep an owner informed without turning every conversation into a fire drill.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Proven Project Management experience within construction.
• Experience with WWTP, wastewater, water infrastructure, heavy civil, or utility projects.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, project financials, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor management.
• Ability to interpret construction documents, specifications, drawings, and scopes of work.
• Strong knowledge of project controls, cost management, forecasting, and change management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities without losing sight of the big picture.
• A collaborative approach to working with field and office teams.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency with construction project management software and standard Microsoft Office applications.
• A professional approach to working with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and project partners.
