Relationship Manager
Boise, Idaho | $100,000–$125,000
Build relationships. Grow businesses. Make an impact.
We’re looking for a Relationship Manager who knows that great banking is about more than numbers on a spreadsheet. It’s about knowing your clients, understanding their goals, spotting opportunities before they become obvious, and becoming the person they trust when the stakes are high.
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven, personable banking professional who enjoys the pace of relationship management, thrives on business development, and genuinely likes getting to know the people behind the businesses. You’ll have the opportunity to develop and manage a portfolio of commercial clients while serving as a trusted financial partner and a meaningful contributor to the growth of the organization.
The Opportunity
As Relationship Manager, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of business clients and work closely with owners, executives, and decision-makers to understand their financial objectives and deliver thoughtful banking solutions. You’ll balance relationship development with sound credit judgment, portfolio management, and business development.
You’ll be out in the market building connections, sitting across the table from business owners, uncovering opportunities, and becoming part of the local business community. Whether a client is expanding, acquiring another company, purchasing real estate, managing cash flow, or simply looking for a better banking partner, you’ll be there to help navigate the next move.
This role is ideal for someone who can comfortably move between relationship builder, financial advisor, business developer, and strategic problem-solver.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, manage, and grow a profitable portfolio of commercial and business relationships.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with business owners, executives, professionals, and community leaders.
- Actively prospect for new relationships through networking, referrals, community involvement, and strategic business development.
- Identify opportunities to deepen existing relationships through lending, deposits, treasury management, and other financial solutions.
- Analyze client financial statements, cash flow, credit history, collateral, and overall financial condition.
- Structure and present credit opportunities while maintaining strong credit discipline and risk awareness.
- Partner with credit, underwriting, treasury management, operations, and other internal teams to deliver exceptional client service.
- Monitor existing portfolios and proactively identify changing financial conditions or potential risks.
- Conduct regular client meetings and relationship reviews to understand evolving business needs.
- Prepare and present loan requests, renewals, modifications, and other credit-related materials.
- Stay informed about market conditions, economic trends, industries, and developments affecting your clients.
- Represent the bank throughout the Boise business community and build a strong network of professional relationships.
- Maintain a high level of responsiveness and follow-through because clients should never have to wonder where their banker went.
- Help create an exceptional client experience from the first conversation through every stage of the relationship.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with a commercial banking mindset and a relationship-first personality. You should be comfortable having sophisticated financial conversations while still being approachable, personable, and genuinely interested in your clients.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Several years of commercial banking, relationship management, lending, or closely related financial services experience.
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending and financial analysis.
- Experience managing and growing a commercial or business banking portfolio.
- The ability to understand financial statements, cash flow, credit risk, and business fundamentals.
- Proven business development and prospecting skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without losing sight of the client.
- Sound judgment and a thoughtful approach to credit and risk.
- A professional presence with the confidence to work directly with business owners and senior executives.
- A genuine desire to become part of the Boise business community.
Why This Role?
Because you won’t simply be managing accounts. You’ll be building a book of relationships.
This is an opportunity to join an organization that values initiative, client relationships, collaboration, and long-term growth. You’ll have the ability to make decisions, develop meaningful partnerships, expand your network, and play a visible role in the success of your clients and the organization.
Boise is a market filled with ambitious businesses, growing companies, established organizations, and entrepreneurs looking for financial partners who understand where they’re going. This is your opportunity to be that partner.
If you’re a Relationship Manager who enjoys winning new business, nurturing established relationships, solving financial puzzles, and being the trusted person clients call when they need to make something happen, this could be your next great move.
