We’re seeking an accomplished and strategic Relationship Manager to join our high-performing commercial banking team in Houston, TX. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor and financial partner to a dynamic portfolio of middle-market and commercial clients. Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Management: Manage, grow, and retain a portfolio of high-value commercial clients. Understand their financial and operational priorities, anticipate needs, and deliver proactive, customized banking solutions.

Client Acquisition & Strategy: Identify opportunities to deepen existing relationships and acquire new clients through a consultative and strategic sales approach. Represent the bank at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings.

Credit & Lending Expertise: Partner with credit and underwriting teams to structure competitive, risk-appropriate lending solutions. Present and advocate for credit requests and renewals with clarity and precision.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with treasury, deposit operations, wealth, and other bank divisions to deliver holistic financial solutions tailored to each client’s needs.

Risk Management: Monitor credit quality and financial trends within your portfolio. Ensure ongoing compliance with internal policies, regulatory expectations, and credit risk appetite.

Market Insight: Stay informed of economic, industry, and market trends that could impact clients and the bank. Provide relevant intelligence to help clients navigate challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or similar advanced degree is a plus).

7+ years of experience in commercial banking, business banking, or relationship management with a focus on middle-market and/or commercial clients.

Strong credit acumen with demonstrated experience in underwriting, structuring, and presenting complex credit transactions.

Proven track record of successful business development and client retention.

High emotional intelligence and executive presence with the ability to build trust-based relationships at all levels.

Deep knowledge of banking products and services, including credit, treasury management, and deposit services.

Strong analytical skills, financial modeling experience, and an eye for detail.
