Build Relationships. Drive Growth. Lead with Expertise.

An exceptional opportunity is available for an accomplished Senior Commercial Relationship Manager to join a highly respected financial institution serving the Coeur d'Alene market. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned commercial banking professional who understands that exceptional banking is built on more than transactions. It is built on trust, strategy, responsiveness, and a genuine commitment to helping businesses succeed.

As a Senior Commercial Relationship Manager, you will take ownership of a sophisticated commercial portfolio while actively developing new relationships throughout the Northern Idaho market. You will serve as a trusted financial advisor to business owners, executives, and decision-makers, helping them navigate growth, expansion, capital needs, acquisitions, real estate opportunities, and the many financial decisions that come with running a successful business.

You will partner closely with Credit Administration, Treasury Management, senior leadership, and other banking professionals to structure thoughtful financial solutions that balance client needs with sound credit principles. This is an opportunity to bring your expertise, relationships, and business development capabilities to an organization where your work has visible impact.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, manage, retain, and expand a profitable portfolio of commercial banking relationships.
  • Build strong, long-term partnerships with business owners, executives, and key decision-makers.
  • Identify and pursue new commercial banking opportunities through networking, referrals, community involvement, strategic prospecting, and existing relationships.
  • Structure, negotiate, and originate sophisticated commercial credit facilities, including C&I, owner-occupied and investment real estate, construction, equipment financing, working capital lines, and other customized lending solutions.
  • Analyze complex financial statements, cash flow, collateral, guarantor strength, industry trends, and overall credit risk.
  • Prepare thorough and compelling credit presentations and loan packages for approval.
  • Partner with Credit Administration and underwriting teams to facilitate efficient, well-structured loan decisions.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and proactively identify emerging risks, covenant issues, and opportunities.
  • Conduct regular client meetings, business visits, portfolio reviews, and annual relationship reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen relationships through treasury management, deposits, merchant services, wealth management, and other financial solutions.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of clients' businesses, industries, competitive environments, and long-term objectives.
  • Ensure lending activities remain compliant with regulatory requirements, bank policies, and established risk-management standards.
  • Represent the organization at community events, business organizations, professional associations, and networking functions.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to deliver a seamless, highly responsive client experience.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior commercial lenders and relationship managers.
  • Contribute to a collaborative culture focused on growth, accountability, relationship excellence, and exceptional service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of commercial banking, commercial lending, or commercial relationship management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing and growing a commercial loan portfolio.
  • Proven track record of commercial business development and relationship expansion.
  • Strong understanding of commercial credit analysis, financial statement interpretation, cash flow underwriting, and risk assessment.
  • Experience with C&I, commercial real estate, owner-occupied real estate, construction, and other business lending products.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending practices, banking regulations, and credit policies.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong business judgment with the ability to balance client needs, profitability, and credit quality.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple complex relationships and priorities.
  • Professional presence with the ability to confidently interact with business owners, executives, and community leaders.

Preferred Experience

  • Established network of business and professional contacts throughout Coeur d'Alene, Spokane, and the greater Northern Idaho market.
  • Experience managing middle-market, privately held, and complex commercial relationships.
  • Demonstrated history of successfully generating new commercial business.
  • Treasury Management and deposit relationship experience.
  • Formal commercial credit training.
  • Advanced financial analysis and portfolio management experience.
  • Experience mentoring or providing leadership to less-experienced lenders.
  • Strong community involvement and a demonstrated commitment to building local business relationships.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is more than a lender. You're a strategist, advocate, business developer, and trusted advisor.

You know how to walk into a business owner's office, ask the right questions, understand what keeps them up at night, and translate those conversations into smart financial solutions. You are equally comfortable discussing a complex credit structure with a CFO, reviewing cash flow with a business owner, or developing a brand-new relationship through community networking.

You bring the confidence and experience to manage sophisticated commercial relationships while maintaining the personal approach that makes clients feel genuinely valued. You understand that the strongest portfolios are built over time, one conversation, one opportunity, and one successful client outcome at a time.

Why Join Us?

  • $140,000 to $170,000 competitive base salary
  • Performance-based incentive opportunities
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
