Position Summary
The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for underwriting complex commercial loan requests, performing detailed financial analysis, assessing risk exposure, and delivering clear, well-supported credit recommendations. This role partners closely with Relationship Managers and senior leadership to structure sound transactions while protecting the bank’s credit quality and portfolio integrity.
This is not an entry-level analysis seat. This is for someone who has weathered cycles, understands policy, and can defend a credit decision with data and judgment.
Key Responsibilities

Underwrite complex commercial, C&I, and commercial real estate loan requests

Analyze historical and projected financial statements, tax returns, borrowing bases, and cash flow

Assess global cash flow, guarantor strength, and contingent liabilities

Identify key risks and recommend mitigants, covenants, and loan structure enhancements

Prepare detailed credit approval memorandums for presentation to loan committees

Ensure compliance with internal credit policy and regulatory requirements

Monitor assigned portfolio, including annual reviews, renewals, covenant compliance, and risk rating accuracy

Partner with Relationship Managers to structure transactions that balance growth and risk management

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior credit analysts

Support exam preparation and regulatory reviews
Qualifications

5+ years of commercial credit analysis experience, preferably within a community or regional bank

Strong experience with commercial real estate and C&I lending

Advanced understanding of financial statement analysis and cash flow modeling

Proven ability to independently underwrite and recommend complex credits

Experience presenting to credit committees or senior leadership

Strong knowledge of loan documentation and covenant structuring

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required
