Bring Your Credit Expertise. Strengthen the Portfolio. Make an Impact.

A great opportunity is available for a Senior Credit Analyst who understands that strong lending decisions are built on more than numbers. This is a role for someone who enjoys digging into financial statements, evaluating risk, understanding the story behind the balance sheet, and providing thoughtful credit insight that helps lenders and clients move forward with confidence.

As a Senior Credit Analyst, you will play an important role in supporting commercial lending activities through detailed financial analysis, credit underwriting, risk assessment, and portfolio monitoring. You will work closely with lenders and banking leadership, serving as a trusted resource throughout the credit process while helping ensure that sound, well-structured decisions are made.

This position is ideal for a seasoned credit professional who is analytical without being rigid, detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture, and comfortable balancing quality, efficiency, and sound judgment.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze commercial loan requests, renewals, modifications, and existing credit relationships to determine financial strength, repayment capacity, and overall credit risk.
  • Review and interpret financial statements, tax returns, balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow statements, borrowing-base information, and other relevant financial documentation.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit analyses, loan presentations, approval packages, and written recommendations for lenders and appropriate credit authorities.
  • Evaluate historical and projected financial performance, liquidity, leverage, profitability, debt service coverage, collateral, guarantor strength, and other key credit considerations.
  • Identify trends, weaknesses, opportunities, and potential risks that may not be immediately apparent from the numbers alone.
  • Partner with Relationship Managers and lenders to structure credit requests that appropriately balance client needs with prudent risk management.
  • Assist with underwriting new business while maintaining a strong understanding of existing portfolio relationships.
  • Monitor assigned credits and help identify emerging risks, covenant concerns, deteriorating financial performance, or other circumstances requiring additional attention.
  • Conduct annual and periodic reviews of existing relationships and ensure credit documentation and analysis remain current and accurate.
  • Research industries, markets, businesses, and borrowers as necessary to develop a well-rounded understanding of credit risk.
  • Provide clear, concise, and well-supported recommendations to lenders, credit officers, and senior management.
  • Participate in discussions surrounding loan structure, terms, covenants, collateral, guarantees, and risk mitigation.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency while managing multiple credit requests and deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively with lending, credit administration, portfolio management, and other banking teams to keep the credit process moving efficiently.
  • Help maintain strong credit quality while supporting responsible growth throughout the commercial banking portfolio.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings solid commercial credit and underwriting experience along with the confidence to ask the right questions and the judgment to recognize what the numbers are really saying.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • Several years of experience in commercial credit analysis, underwriting, banking, or a closely related financial-services environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and commercial credit principles.
  • Experience analyzing business and personal financial information.
  • Ability to assess repayment sources, cash flow, collateral, guarantor support, and overall creditworthiness.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending practices and credit risk concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working independently while also contributing as part of a collaborative banking team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial analysis tools.

The Personality Fit

We are looking for someone who enjoys credit. Someone who can spend time in the weeds of a financial statement but still understand the larger business relationship. Someone who is naturally curious, asks thoughtful questions, spots inconsistencies, and can explain a complicated credit issue without turning it into a 45-minute economics lecture.

You should be comfortable challenging assumptions respectfully, supporting your recommendations with facts, and working alongside experienced lenders and banking professionals. Most importantly, you should take pride in producing credit work that is thorough, practical, timely, and dependable.

Why This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to become an important part of a banking team where your analysis has a direct impact on lending decisions and portfolio quality. Your work will help lenders understand opportunities, identify risks, structure transactions, and build stronger relationships with business clients.

If you're ready for a Senior Credit Analyst position where your experience, judgment, and financial expertise are genuinely valued, this could be the next chapter worth exploring.
