What You’ll Do

• Lead the full-cycle estimating process for large-scale construction projects, from initial concept and schematic budgets to final detailed bids.

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals with a fine-toothed comb, ensuring no scope gaps, hidden risks, or overlooked opportunities.

• Develop highly accurate cost models, budgets, and competitive bid packages that win work while protecting profitability.

• Work hand-in-hand with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors to confirm quantities, clarify scopes, and validate pricing.

• Proactively seek out value-engineering opportunities without compromising quality or client expectations.

• Negotiate with trade partners and vendors to secure the most competitive pricing while maintaining strong, respectful relationships.

• Stay current with regional labor rates, material costs, market conditions, and construction trends across Colorado and Nebraska.

• Mentor and review the work of junior estimators, setting a high standard of accuracy, clarity, and thoroughness.

• Identify risks, prepare contingency strategies, and communicate confidently with executives and clients.

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of proven estimating experience in commercial, industrial, or large-scale construction.

• Deep knowledge of CSI divisions, unit pricing, and cost-tracking systems.

• Exceptional ability to read, interpret, and analyze complex drawings, specs, and contracts.

• A perfectionist’s eye for detail—someone who catches what others miss.

• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills paired with the ability to communicate findings clearly and persuasively.

• Tech-savvy with estimating software (such as Sage Estimating, On-Screen Takeoff, ProEst, or similar), and comfortable leveraging digital tools to streamline accuracy.

• A confident, composed, and persuasive communicator—capable of leading conversations with clients, trade partners, and executives alike.

• Integrity, accountability, and the ability to balance competitiveness with fairness in every estimate.
