What You’ll Do

• Lead the Special Assets Department, managing a portfolio of complex, high-risk, or non-performing commercial loans and assets.

• Develop and execute strategic plans for restructuring, foreclosure, liquidation, or resolution—maximizing recovery while protecting the institution’s interests.

• Oversee negotiations with borrowers, attorneys, trustees, and other stakeholders on loan workouts, forbearance, and restructuring agreements.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with senior leadership, Credit, Legal, Lending, and Risk to drive smart decision-making and cohesive execution.

• Mentor and manage a high-performing team of Special Assets officers and analysts, building a culture of accountability and sharp financial analysis.

• Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance, and proactively identify potential portfolio risks.

• Report directly to executive leadership and the Board, delivering insights and recommendations on asset quality, reserves, and resolutions.

What You Bring

• 10+ years of experience in commercial credit, workouts, special assets, or turnaround management—preferably within banking, private credit, or real estate finance.

• Proven leadership experience in managing distressed asset portfolios and navigating complex negotiations.

• Deep knowledge of legal frameworks related to loan documentation, default, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and UCC.

• Strategic thinker with sharp analytical skills and a bias for action.

• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field required; MBA or JD preferred.
