What You’ll Do

Lead the Special Assets Department, managing a portfolio of complex, high-risk, or non-performing commercial loans and assets.

Develop and execute strategic plans for restructuring, foreclosure, liquidation, or resolution—maximizing recovery while protecting the institution’s interests.

Oversee negotiations with borrowers, attorneys, trustees, and other stakeholders on loan workouts, forbearance, and restructuring agreements.

Collaborate cross-functionally with senior leadership, Credit, Legal, Lending, and Risk to drive smart decision-making and cohesive execution.

Mentor and manage a high-performing team of Special Assets officers and analysts, building a culture of accountability and sharp financial analysis.

Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance, and proactively identify potential portfolio risks.

Report directly to executive leadership and the Board, delivering insights and recommendations on asset quality, reserves, and resolutions.
What You Bring
-
10+ years of experience in commercial credit, workouts, special assets, or turnaround management—preferably within banking, private credit, or real estate finance.

Proven leadership experience in managing distressed asset portfolios and navigating complex negotiations.

Deep knowledge of legal frameworks related to loan documentation, default, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and UCC.

Strategic thinker with sharp analytical skills and a bias for action.

Strong executive presence with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field required; MBA or JD preferred.
