Superintendent
Salt Lake City, UT | $75,000–$100,000
Build It Right. Lead the Field. Know What Happens Next.
A great Superintendent doesn’t simply watch a project happen. They understand the plan, anticipate the problems, keep the crews moving, and know when a small issue could become a very large headache.
We’re looking for a knowledgeable, organized, and field-focused Superintendent who can take ownership of day-to-day construction operations and keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and according to plan. This is a role for someone who enjoys being where the work happens, understands that details matter, and can lead with both confidence and common sense.
You’ll work closely with project management, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and field crews to coordinate construction activities from mobilization through completion. You’ll be expected to know the drawings, understand the schedule, recognize quality issues before they become rework, and keep communication flowing when the pressure starts to rise.
What You’ll Do
-
Direct and coordinate daily field construction activities from project start through completion.
-
Supervise subcontractors, crews, and field personnel while maintaining productivity and accountability.
-
Review plans, specifications, schedules, and project requirements to ensure work is being completed correctly.
-
Coordinate sequencing of trades and activities to keep the project progressing efficiently.
-
Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays before they become major problems.
-
Conduct regular site walks and maintain a strong understanding of project progress.
-
Verify that work is being performed according to plans, specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes.
-
Maintain a strong focus on jobsite safety and ensure crews and subcontractors follow established safety procedures.
-
Coordinate inspections and work with inspectors, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
-
Communicate daily progress, manpower needs, material requirements, scheduling concerns, and potential issues to the project team.
-
Help coordinate material deliveries and ensure materials are available when needed.
-
Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective work quickly and effectively.
-
Maintain accurate daily reports, field documentation, and project records.
-
Work closely with the Project Manager to address changes, scheduling issues, RFIs, and field conditions.
-
Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
-
Build productive relationships with subcontractors and hold partners accountable to project expectations.
-
Participate in project meetings and provide knowledgeable field insight.
-
Keep an eye on the big picture while still catching the small details that others might miss.
What Makes You Successful
You’re the person who can walk onto a jobsite and quickly understand what’s happening.
You know that construction rarely follows the perfect little roadmap drawn up months ago. Conditions change. Deliveries get delayed. Drawings raise questions. Trades overlap. Weather decides to have opinions. The Superintendent is often the person who sees those challenges coming and figures out how to keep the project moving anyway.
We’re looking for someone who brings:
-
Previous Superintendent or strong construction leadership experience.
-
Solid knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, sequencing, and field coordination.
-
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
-
Strong understanding of jobsite safety and quality-control practices.
-
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
-
Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and priorities simultaneously.
-
Strong problem-solving skills and sound field judgment.
-
Ability to hold teams accountable while maintaining productive working relationships.
-
Comfort working independently and making decisions in the field.
-
Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the overall project.
-
A professional approach with the confidence to lead.
The Bottom Line
This is an opportunity for a Superintendent who wants to own the field operation, not simply occupy a jobsite trailer.
If you understand construction, enjoy solving problems before they become expensive problems, and take pride in seeing a project move from drawings to reality, this could be a very good fit.
