The Role: Architect of Risk. Guardian of Growth.

This is not a back-office credit seat. This is the command center.

As SVP, Chief Credit Officer, you will stand at the intersection of ambition and discipline, where every decision shapes the institution’s trajectory. You’ll design the credit philosophy, steer portfolio strategy, and safeguard the balance sheet while empowering smart, calculated growth. Think of it as conducting an orchestra where every note is a loan, every tempo shift is market risk, and precision determines performance.

You will partner closely with executive leadership, influence enterprise strategy, and ensure the organization scales with both confidence and control.

What You’ll Own

Enterprise Credit Leadership

  • Define, refine, and enforce the institution’s credit risk framework, policy, and appetite
  • Serve as the final authority on complex credit decisions, structuring, and exceptions
  • Chair or lead credit committees with clarity, conviction, and strategic foresight

Portfolio Strategy & Risk Oversight

  • Oversee the full credit lifecycle across commercial, CRE, and specialty lending portfolios
  • Monitor asset quality, concentration risk, and economic exposure with a forward-looking lens
  • Drive stress testing, portfolio segmentation, and risk-adjusted return optimization

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Build, mentor, and elevate a high-performing credit team across underwriting, review, and administration
  • Instill a culture where disciplined risk-taking and sound judgment coexist
  • Act as a thought leader and trusted advisor to lenders and business line leaders

Credit Policy & Governance

  • Continuously evolve credit policies to reflect market conditions, regulatory expectations, and growth goals
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards while maintaining operational agility
  • Partner with internal audit and regulators with confidence and transparency

Executive Partnership

  • Collaborate with the CEO, CRO, and senior leadership to align credit strategy with enterprise objectives
  • Provide clear, data-driven insights to the Board and executive committees
  • Translate market signals into actionable credit strategies

What You Bring to the Table

  • 12–15+ years of progressive credit leadership experience within commercial banking or financial services
  • Proven success managing large, complex credit portfolios with strong asset quality performance
  • Deep expertise in commercial & industrial (C&I), commercial real estate (CRE), and structured lending
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-level credit committees and influence executive decision-making
  • Strong command of regulatory frameworks, credit policy design, and risk governance
  • A sharp analytical mind paired with sound judgment and decisive leadership

What Sets You Apart

  • You see risk before it introduces itself
  • You balance growth with discipline without slowing momentum
  • You can challenge assumptions in a room full of executives and elevate the conversation
  • You lead with both authority and credibility, earning trust across the organization

Compensation & Executive Rewards

  • Base Salary: $240,000 – $265,000
  • Performance-based bonus and long-term incentives
  • Comprehensive executive benefits package
  • Relocation assistance (if applicable)

Why This Role Matters
