Compensation: $170,000–$200,000 base salary, plus incentive opportunities

Position Overview

The Senior Vice President, Market President serves as the senior executive leader for the Katy market, responsible for overall market performance, strategic growth, and community presence. This role provides executive oversight of commercial banking, lending, deposit growth, and relationship management while ensuring operational excellence, sound risk management, and adherence to regulatory standards. The Market President acts as both strategist and ambassador, advancing the bank’s brand, culture, and financial performance across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Market Leadership & Strategy

• Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for all banking activities within the Katy market.

• Develop and execute market-specific growth strategies focused on commercial lending, deposits, and treasury services.

• Drive sustainable profitability while maintaining strong credit quality and risk discipline.

• Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and economic conditions to inform strategic decisions.

Business Development & Relationship Management

• Originate, structure, and maintain a portfolio of complex commercial relationships with middle-market and closely held businesses.

• Serve as the primary executive contact for key clients, centers of influence, and community leaders.

• Champion a consultative, relationship-driven banking approach that emphasizes long-term partnerships.

• Collaborate with credit, treasury, and operational teams to deliver integrated financial solutions.

Team Leadership & Culture

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of relationship managers and market leaders.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and ethical decision-making.

• Set performance expectations and ensure alignment with organizational goals and values.

• Partner with senior leadership on talent development, succession planning, and performance management.

Credit & Risk Oversight

• Provide senior-level oversight of credit decisions, portfolio management, and risk mitigation.

• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and safety-and-soundness standards.

• Participate in credit committees and provide guidance on complex or high-exposure transactions.

Community & Brand Presence

• Represent the bank as a visible and respected leader in the Katy community.

• Participate in civic, nonprofit, and business organizations to strengthen market presence and brand recognition.

• Support initiatives that reinforce the bank’s reputation as a trusted, community-focused financial institution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

• 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial banking, including senior-level market or regional management.

• Proven track record of driving market growth, profitability, and strong credit performance.

• Deep understanding of commercial lending, deposit products, treasury management, and banking regulations.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.

• Strong knowledge of the Katy and greater Houston-area market preferred.
