Position Overview
The SVP Note Manager will oversee the administration, servicing, monitoring, and operational integrity of the bank’s commercial and consumer loan portfolios. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership, credit administration, relationship managers, compliance teams, and loan operations to ensure loan documentation, portfolio performance, and servicing standards are executed with excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & Loan Administration Leadership
- Oversee the management and servicing of complex commercial, agricultural, construction, and consumer loan portfolios
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all loan documentation, collateral records, and servicing activities
- Monitor loan maturity reports, covenant tracking, exceptions, and payment activity across the portfolio
- Partner with credit and lending teams to maintain strong asset quality and minimize operational risk
- Provide strategic oversight of note management processes from booking through payoff
Risk Management & Compliance
- Maintain deep understanding of banking regulations, lending policies, and internal controls
- Ensure adherence to state and federal banking requirements, audit standards, and compliance expectations
- Identify operational inefficiencies or portfolio risks and proactively implement corrective solutions
- Support internal and external audits, loan reviews, and regulatory examinations
- Assist leadership in strengthening portfolio governance and operational transparency
Operational Excellence
- Streamline workflows and enhance loan servicing efficiency across departments
- Collaborate with technology and operations teams to improve reporting systems and process automation
- Oversee exception tracking, imaging systems, collateral perfection, and documentation management
- Ensure timely processing of renewals, modifications, payoffs, and loan maintenance requests
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and support loan operations and servicing personnel
- Foster a culture of accountability, precision, professionalism, and service excellence
- Serve as a trusted resource for lenders, credit analysts, and executive leadership
- Participate in strategic initiatives, process improvement discussions, and departmental planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 7+ years of progressive banking experience with strong exposure to loan servicing, note administration, credit operations, or portfolio management
- Prior leadership experience within a commercial banking environment strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of commercial loan structures, documentation, collateral, and servicing practices
- Working knowledge of banking compliance, regulatory expectations, and operational risk management
- Exceptional organizational skills with sharp attention to detail and deadlines
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently across all levels of the organization
- Experience with core banking systems and loan management platforms preferred
