Position Overview
The Senior Vice President, Relationship Manager is a strategic rainmaker and trusted advisor who serves as the primary steward of the firm’s most significant and complex client relationships. This role blends commercial instinct, financial sophistication, and executive presence to drive growth, deepen partnerships, and position the organization as an indispensable long-term financial ally. The SVP operates at the intersection of strategy and service, orchestrating internal resources, anticipating client needs, and translating opportunity into sustainable, profitable expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and cultivate a high-value portfolio of middle-market and/or large corporate relationships, acting as the senior point of contact and advocate for each client.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive relationship strategies that expand wallet share through cross-selling, treasury solutions, credit, capital markets, and advisory services.

  • Lead complex negotiations, structure sophisticated financial solutions, and guide clients through growth initiatives, acquisitions, recapitalizations, and liquidity events.

  • Partner closely with Credit, Risk, Treasury, Product, and Operations teams to deliver seamless, responsive, and compliant client experiences.

  • Proactively identify emerging risks and opportunities, ensuring sound credit quality while driving responsible revenue growth.

  • Serve as a visible market ambassador, strengthening the firm’s brand through networking, community involvement, and referral development.

  • Mentor and elevate junior relationship managers and associates, setting a high bar for professionalism, analytical rigor, and client stewardship.

  • Provide executive-level insight to senior leadership regarding market trends, competitive dynamics, and portfolio performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced financial training strongly preferred.

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in commercial or corporate banking, financial services, or relationship management, with a proven record of managing complex, high-revenue portfolios.

  • Deep expertise in credit structuring, financial analysis, and risk management, paired with exceptional consultative selling skills.

  • Polished executive presence with the ability to influence C-suite decision makers and navigate multi-layered organizations.

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication abilities, with a collaborative, growth-oriented mindset.

  • Established Southern California market knowledge and network highly desirable.
