Position Overview: The Senior Vice President (SVP) Relationship Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing key client relationships within an organization. The SVP Relationship Manager will drive business development, ensure high levels of client satisfaction, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet and exceed client needs. The role demands strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and strategic thinking to maintain and expand client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Relationship Management:

    • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with high-value clients.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts, providing tailored solutions to meet client objectives.
    • Anticipate client needs and proactively offer services to enhance customer satisfaction.
    • Handle complex client issues and escalations with a solution-focused mindset.
  2. Business Development & Growth:

    • Identify opportunities for business growth within existing accounts and explore new potential clients.
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop and execute strategies for acquiring new business.
    • Lead negotiations and discussions with clients for contracts, renewals, and upselling of services.
  3. Strategic Planning:

    • Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement strategic initiatives for managing client relationships.
    • Develop account plans, including growth strategies, revenue goals, and client retention strategies.
    • Ensure alignment between client needs and the company’s capabilities to achieve mutual success.
  4. Team Leadership & Collaboration:

    • Lead a team of Relationship Managers, providing guidance and mentoring to ensure the team meets objectives.
    • Coordinate with internal teams such as operations, finance, and product development to ensure client needs are met efficiently.
    • Foster a collaborative environment to enhance team performance and client outcomes.
  5. Financial Management:

    • Develop and manage budgets for client accounts, ensuring projects are delivered within financial parameters.
    • Monitor and report on account profitability and identify areas for cost optimization.
    • Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  6. Market & Industry Analysis:

    • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to identify opportunities and risks.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to clients to help them stay competitive in their respective industries.
    • Attend industry events and network to build new relationships and stay current on developments.
  7. Reporting & Metrics:

    • Provide regular reports on the status of client accounts, including key performance indicators (KPIs), issues, and opportunities.
    • Present strategic insights and recommendations to senior management and clients.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in client relationship management, account management, or business development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and people management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proven ability to manage complex relationships and negotiate high-value deals.
    • Deep knowledge of the industry and market trends.
    • Financial acumen and experience in budget management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or other relevant advanced degree.
  • Experience in the relevant industry or sector (e.g., banking, finance, technology, etc.).
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and client satisfaction.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based with occasional travel to meet clients and attend industry events.
  • Flexible working arrangements may be available, depending on the company.
