This is a role for a confident banking professional who can think strategically, move decisively, and bring both leadership and relationship-building horsepower to the table.

As SVP, RM / Team Lead, you will manage and expand a portfolio of commercial relationships while helping guide a team of relationship-focused bankers. You will serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and executives, uncover new opportunities, structure sophisticated credit solutions, and collaborate across the organization to deliver an exceptional client experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Relationship Managers and banking professionals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, business owners, executives, and community leaders.
  • Develop new business through networking, referrals, prospecting, community involvement, and existing relationships.
  • Manage and grow a commercial loan and deposit portfolio while maintaining strong asset quality.
  • Analyze client financials, business plans, cash flow, credit needs, and overall relationship profitability.
  • Structure and negotiate commercial lending transactions appropriate to the client and the institution.
  • Identify opportunities for treasury management, deposits, commercial lending, and other financial solutions.
  • Partner with Credit, Treasury Management, Operations, and senior leadership to deliver thoughtful solutions.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, risk exposure, covenant compliance, and credit quality.
  • Provide leadership in business development strategy, market expansion, and revenue growth.
  • Represent the organization professionally throughout the Long Beach business community.
  • Help create a culture built around accountability, collaboration, integrity, and outstanding client service.

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant commercial banking and relationship management experience.
  • Proven success developing new business and growing a commercial portfolio.
  • Previous leadership, team lead, or people-management experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial credit, financial analysis, and loan structuring.
  • Excellent understanding of commercial banking products, treasury services, and relationship profitability.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate executive-level relationships and generate referrals.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker who can balance growth opportunities with sound risk management.
  • Highly motivated, organized, and comfortable operating in a performance-driven environment.
  • Strong community presence and a genuine interest in developing long-term market relationships.

The Opportunity

This is more than a portfolio-management position. It is an opportunity to lead people, influence growth, strengthen relationships, and help shape the future of a market. The ideal candidate brings the credibility to sit across the table from senior executives, the commercial instincts to recognize an opportunity before it becomes obvious, and the leadership skills to bring a team along for the ride.

If you're ready to take the next step into a high-impact leadership role where relationships matter and performance gets noticed, this could be your next great move.
