An outstanding opportunity is available for a seasoned Senior Vice President, Team Lead to take a highly visible leadership role within a relationship-driven banking organization serving the Los Angeles and Sherman Oaks markets. This position is designed for an accomplished banking professional who knows how to build business, cultivate lasting client relationships, develop talented bankers, and turn opportunities into meaningful, sustainable growth.
This is much more than a production role. The SVP, Team Lead will serve as a senior relationship banker, business developer, mentor, strategist, and market leader, helping guide a team while remaining actively engaged with clients and prospects. The right individual will bring strong commercial banking expertise, sound credit judgment, an established network, and the confidence to sit across the table from sophisticated business owners, executives, investors, and community leaders.
The Opportunity
As SVP, Team Lead, you will have the opportunity to influence the direction and growth of a banking team while maintaining a meaningful presence in the marketplace. You will identify new business opportunities, expand existing relationships, deepen client engagement, and collaborate with internal partners to deliver thoughtful financial solutions.
You will also play a key role in developing bankers around you. This means coaching, challenging, supporting, and helping team members sharpen their business-development strategies, relationship-management skills, credit discipline, and overall banking expertise.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of commercial banking professionals while creating a culture centered around accountability, collaboration, client service, and business development.
- Develop and execute market strategies designed to grow deposits, loans, fee income, treasury services, and overall relationship profitability.
- Personally cultivate and expand a portfolio of high-value commercial relationships.
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities through networking, referrals, centers of influence, community involvement, and established market relationships.
- Build trusted relationships with business owners, executives, CFOs, investors, and other key decision-makers.
- Conduct thoughtful discovery with clients to understand their businesses, financial objectives, challenges, and long-term goals.
- Structure and recommend sophisticated commercial credit solutions while maintaining disciplined underwriting and risk-management standards.
- Partner closely with Credit, Treasury Management, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Operations, and other internal teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Review relationship profitability, portfolio performance, pipeline activity, and overall team production.
- Provide guidance on complex transactions, pricing, credit structure, risk considerations, and relationship strategy.
- Participate in loan presentations, credit discussions, portfolio reviews, and other senior-level decision-making processes.
- Maintain strong knowledge of local market conditions, competitors, industries, economic trends, and business opportunities.
- Represent the organization professionally within the Los Angeles and Sherman Oaks business communities.
- Encourage team members to develop their own centers of influence and become trusted advisors within their respective markets.
- Monitor portfolio quality and ensure relationships are managed in accordance with established credit, compliance, regulatory, and risk-management standards.
- Help establish meaningful goals and expectations for the team and hold team members accountable for achieving them.
- Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, responsiveness, and a genuine commitment to client relationships.
- Contribute to strategic planning and broader market-development initiatives.
- Serve as a senior resource for complex client situations and help remove obstacles that may stand between the team and a successful client outcome.
What We're Looking For
- Significant commercial banking experience with a demonstrated history of business development and relationship management.
- Previous leadership, team-lead, sales-management, or mentoring experience within a banking environment.
- A well-developed network of commercial clients and centers of influence within the Los Angeles market is highly valued.
- Strong understanding of commercial lending, credit, deposits, treasury management, and relationship profitability.
- Demonstrated ability to generate new business while retaining and expanding existing relationships.
- Strong financial acumen and the ability to understand complex business structures and financial statements.
- Excellent credit judgment and the ability to balance growth opportunities with prudent risk management.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to lead through influence, develop talent, and create accountability without losing the human side of leadership.
- High level of professionalism and discretion when working with sophisticated clients and sensitive financial information.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.
