The Opportunity

We’re looking for an SVP, Team Lead who knows how to lead from the front, build something worth bragging about, and keep a talented team moving in the same direction. This is not a “sit in the corner and approve things” kind of leadership role. We’re talking strategy, relationships, growth, coaching, and plenty of opportunity to make your fingerprints visible across the organization.

If you’re the kind of banking leader who can walk into a room, understand the numbers, understand the people, and somehow get everyone excited about what comes next, this could be your kind of challenge.

Based in Kingwood, Texas, this role offers the chance to combine executive-level leadership with meaningful involvement in the market. You’ll lead, develop, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team while helping drive business development and long-term client relationships.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and develop a team of banking professionals with a strong focus on performance, accountability, collaboration, and growth.
  • Set the pace for business development while building and expanding valuable client and community relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the market, deepen existing relationships, and bring new business through the door.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their businesses, goals, challenges, and financial needs.
  • Partner with internal teams to structure creative, thoughtful financial solutions that serve both the client and the bank.
  • Coach and mentor team members, helping them sharpen their skills and build meaningful careers.
  • Establish clear expectations, monitor performance, and celebrate wins while addressing challenges head-on.
  • Participate in credit, risk, and portfolio discussions while maintaining sound banking practices.
  • Represent the organization within the local business community and build a strong network of professional relationships.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on market strategy, growth initiatives, and organizational priorities.
  • Keep an eye on the big picture without losing sight of the details that keep a banking team running smoothly.
  • Help create a culture where talented people want to stay, grow, contribute, and occasionally celebrate a great quarter with something better than another spreadsheet.

What Makes You a Great Fit

You’re an experienced banking leader with a demonstrated ability to grow relationships, develop people, and produce results. You understand that successful leadership isn't simply about having the biggest title in the room. It’s about earning trust, creating momentum, making good decisions, and bringing people along for the ride.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Significant banking and commercial financial services experience.
  • Proven leadership experience managing, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
  • A strong history of business development and relationship management.
  • Excellent credit and financial analysis knowledge.
  • The ability to evaluate opportunities through both a strategic and risk-conscious lens.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • A genuine interest in developing people and building a collaborative culture.
  • The confidence to make decisions and the judgment to know when collaboration is the better move.
  • Strong community and business-development instincts within the Kingwood/Houston market.
  • A professional presence paired with a personality people actually want to work with.

The Personality We’re After

You don't have to be the loudest person in the room. You do need to be someone people listen to.

You’re strategic without being stiff. Competitive without stepping on toes. Analytical without turning every conversation into a spreadsheet. You know how to challenge your team while still being the person they want in their corner.

Most importantly, you understand that banking is ultimately a people business wrapped in numbers. Relationships matter. Trust matters. Follow-through matters. And great leaders make all three part of the culture.

Why This Role?

Because this is an opportunity to lead rather than simply manage.

You’ll have the platform, influence, and compensation to make a real impact while working with talented professionals and meaningful clients in one of the Houston area's dynamic communities.

If you’re ready to bring executive-level leadership, entrepreneurial energy, and a little personality to the table, we’d like to meet you.
