Ref #: 208
Location: Colorado Colorado
2025-11-25
Salary: $100-150k
Sector: Construction
Type: Permanent

Location: Denver, CO (Extensive Travel Required)
Compensation: $100,000 – $150,000 (depending on experience, performance, and qualifications)

Are you a driven and detail-oriented construction professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, values structure and accountability, and enjoys the challenge of overseeing complex projects across multiple locations? Our team is seeking a Traveling Project Manager who brings an exceptional level of organization, precision, and leadership to every job site. This role requires not just someone who can “get the job done,” but a proven leader who has mastered the art of balancing demanding schedules, client expectations, diverse subcontractor relationships, and company standards—all while traveling to wherever the work is needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Full Lifecycle Project Management – Take ownership from pre-construction through close-out, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to contract specifications.

  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement – Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, architects, engineers, and local officials. Represent the company professionally at all times and anticipate client needs before they become issues.

  • Budget & Cost Control – Prepare, monitor, and rigorously manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports. Scrutinize every number, contract, and change order—nothing gets past your review.

  • Scheduling & Coordination – Develop and enforce comprehensive project schedules, proactively identifying potential delays and implementing solutions before problems arise.

  • Field Oversight – Provide hands-on leadership at job sites across multiple states, ensuring quality standards, safety compliance, and operational efficiency are never compromised.

  • Risk Management – Detect risks early, resolve conflicts diplomatically but firmly, and make critical decisions that protect the company’s reputation and financial standing.

  • Subcontractor Management – Hold subcontractors accountable for timelines, safety, and workmanship. Enforce contracts with precision, while maintaining professional relationships.

  • Travel Readiness – Spend significant time on the road (estimated 70%+), managing projects in various regions. Flexibility, adaptability, and strong time management are absolutely essential.

What We’re Looking For

This is not a role for someone who is “just good enough.” We want a Project Manager who thrives on being the person who notices the small things others miss, who takes ownership without excuses, and who expects excellence not only from themselves but from everyone around them.

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience considered.

  • Proven Experience: Minimum 7+ years of project management experience in commercial, industrial, or large-scale construction. Multi-site or traveling project experience strongly preferred.

  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.), scheduling, and budgeting tools. Must be comfortable with technology and documentation requirements.

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication; ability to adapt to different audiences from executives to field crews.

  • Leadership: Confident, decisive, and able to inspire teams while holding them accountable to the highest standards.

  • Detail-Oriented Mindset: Sharp eye for contracts, specs, change orders, and compliance—someone who notices when something is out of alignment and corrects it immediately.

  • Travel Commitment: Must be able to travel frequently and for extended periods. Flexibility and stamina are non-negotiable.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary in the range of $100K–$150K, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off.

  • Travel allowances, per diem, and company vehicle or vehicle allowance.

  • Opportunity to grow with a company that values accountability, precision, and high standards.

  • A culture where excellence is expected, integrity is non-negotiable, and your contributions truly matter.
