Traveling Superintendent

Ref #: 231
Location: Montana Montana
2026-08-26
Salary: $90-100k + per diem
Sector: Construction
Type: Permanent

???? West Yellowstone, Montana | ???? $90,000–$100,000 + Per Diem

In the gateway to the wild edges of West Yellowstone, where job sites sit shoulder-to-shoulder with forests, weather swings like a pendulum, and logistics demand both brains and backbone, we’re looking for a Traveling Superintendent who treats safety not as a checklist—but as a living system.

This is field leadership in motion. Rotating sites, changing conditions, and zero tolerance for shortcuts that compromise people or precision.

The Mission

Build it right. Build it safely. Build it so no one has to “hope” the plan works.

You are the on-the-ground authority ensuring every project runs with disciplined execution, tight sequencing, and a culture where everyone goes home whole at the end of the day.

The Terrain You’ll Command

Expect movement. Expect variability. Expect real construction conditions:

  • Multi-site travel with active field oversight
  • Remote and seasonal environment considerations
  • Coordination across subs, vendors, and inspectors
  • Weather-driven adjustments that require fast, grounded decision-making

No two weeks feel identical, and that’s exactly the point.

Safety Is the Operating System

You don’t “enforce” safety. You embed it.

  • Daily jobsite hazard recognition that actually changes behavior
  • Pre-task planning that doesn’t get skipped when schedules tighten
  • Toolbox talks that people remember and act on
  • Stop-work authority used confidently, not cautiously
  • OSHA-aligned practices backed by real field leadership presence

If it’s not safe, it’s not happening. Period.

What You’ll Own

  • Full field execution from mobilization to punch list
  • Schedule integrity across multiple moving parts
  • Subcontractor coordination and accountability
  • Quality control that prevents rework, not just detects it
  • Daily reporting and communication with project leadership
  • Site logistics, sequencing, and manpower flow

You’re the person who makes complexity behave.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven superintendent experience in commercial or civil construction
  • Strong safety leadership track record in field environments
  • Ability to travel and adapt to changing job sites
  • Calm decision-making when pressure stacks up
  • Deep respect for structure, sequencing, and standards
  • Willingness to lead from boots-on-ground, not behind a desk

Compensation & Travel Package

  • $90,000–$100,000 base salary
  • Per diem for travel and field assignments
  • Travel-related expenses covered per project policy
  • Opportunity to work on varied, high-impact builds in dynamic environments

Why This Role Hits Different

This is not a stationary superintendent seat.

It’s a roaming command role across changing terrain, where your influence is measured in safe days worked, clean inspections, and crews that trust your judgment without question.

You don’t just keep projects moving.
You keep people protected while they move them forward.
