Position Overview
As the VP, BSA Officer, you will take full ownership of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) programs, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements while proactively identifying and mitigating financial crime risk. You will partner closely with executive leadership, regulators, and cross-functional teams to build a culture of compliance that is both rigorous and forward-thinking.

Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership:
Design, implement, and continuously enhance the institution’s BSA/AML/OFAC compliance programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practices. - Regulatory Oversight:
Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies during examinations and audits, confidently representing the organization’s compliance posture. - Risk Assessment & Monitoring:
Oversee enterprise-wide BSA/AML risk assessments, transaction monitoring systems, and suspicious activity reporting (SAR) processes. - Policy & Procedure Development:
Develop, maintain, and refine policies and procedures that reflect evolving regulatory requirements and organizational risk tolerance. - Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing compliance team, fostering a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement. - Training & Culture Building:
Champion compliance education across the organization, ensuring all employees understand their role in maintaining regulatory integrity. - Data & Analytics Utilization:
Leverage data-driven insights to strengthen monitoring systems, identify trends, and proactively address emerging risks. - Audit & Issue Resolution:
Manage internal and external audits, ensuring timely remediation of findings and sustainable corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- 8+ years of progressive BSA/AML compliance experience, with leadership responsibilities
- CAMS, CRCM, or similar certification strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of BSA, AML, OFAC, and related regulatory frameworks
- Proven experience managing regulatory exams and interacting with federal/state regulators
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex regulations into actionable strategies
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
