What You'll Do

As VP Commercial Lender, you will serve as a key ambassador for the bank throughout the community while managing and expanding a diverse commercial lending portfolio. You'll identify new business opportunities, cultivate lasting client partnerships, and structure creative financing solutions that fuel long-term success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and grow a profitable commercial loan portfolio through business development and relationship management.
  • Build trusted partnerships with business owners, developers, investors, and professional referral sources.
  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and credit risk to structure sound lending solutions.
  • Present loan opportunities and recommendations to executive leadership and loan committees.
  • Cross-sell treasury management, deposits, merchant services, and additional banking solutions.
  • Maintain exceptional portfolio quality through proactive monitoring and ongoing client communication.
  • Negotiate loan structures while balancing risk management with outstanding client service.
  • Represent the bank at networking events, industry organizations, and community activities.
  • Stay informed on market trends, economic conditions, and competitive opportunities.
  • Collaborate with credit, underwriting, treasury, and operations teams to ensure an exceptional client experience.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of commercial lending and relationship management experience.
  • Demonstrated success developing commercial banking portfolios and generating new business.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis, underwriting, loan structuring, and financial statement analysis.
  • Experience with C&I, owner-occupied real estate, investment real estate, and commercial lending products.
  • Proven ability to develop centers of influence and referral networks.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of banking regulations and sound credit practices.
  • Ability to make thoughtful decisions while balancing client needs and organizational objectives.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
