Richardson, TX | $130,000–$160,000
Lead Relationships. Grow the Market. Make an Impact.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a driven, experienced Commercial Lender who knows how to build relationships, uncover opportunity, and turn business conversations into long-term partnerships. We are looking for a banking professional with the confidence to develop a meaningful portfolio, the credit expertise to structure sound transactions, and the business instincts to identify opportunities that create value for both clients and the institution.
As VP, Commercial Lender, you will serve as a trusted financial partner to established businesses and their leadership teams. You will be responsible for developing new commercial relationships while strengthening existing ones, understanding each client's goals and challenges, and delivering thoughtful lending and financial solutions. This is a role for someone who enjoys being in the market, meeting business owners, cultivating centers of influence, and becoming the banker clients call when the next big opportunity arises.
What You'll Do
- Develop, manage, and expand a profitable portfolio of commercial banking relationships.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities throughout the Richardson/Dallas market.
- Build strong relationships with business owners, executives, CFOs, controllers, and other key decision-makers.
- Analyze client needs and recommend customized commercial lending, deposit, treasury, and other financial solutions.
- Structure and negotiate commercial loans while maintaining sound credit discipline and appropriate risk management.
- Prepare and review credit presentations, financial analyses, cash-flow assessments, loan structures, and related documentation.
- Conduct thorough financial and credit analysis to evaluate repayment capacity, collateral, guarantor strength, industry trends, and overall relationship risk.
- Partner closely with credit, underwriting, treasury, operations, and other internal teams to deliver exceptional client service.
- Monitor portfolio performance and proactively identify emerging risks, opportunities, and changing client needs.
- Maintain a strong understanding of local industries, businesses, competitors, economic conditions, and market trends.
- Develop referral relationships and centers of influence that generate quality commercial banking opportunities.
- Participate in community, industry, and professional organizations to increase visibility and strengthen the institution's presence in the market.
- Cross-sell appropriate banking products and services while keeping the client's broader financial needs at the center of the relationship.
- Ensure all lending activity complies with established policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and risk standards.
- Provide an exceptional client experience from initial prospecting through underwriting, closing, and ongoing relationship management.
What Makes You a Strong Fit
You are a relationship builder with a commercial mindset. You understand that successful lending is about much more than putting together a loan. It is about understanding a business, knowing its leadership, anticipating its needs, and becoming a trusted advisor over time.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Proven commercial lending or commercial banking experience.
- A successful history of business development and portfolio growth.
- Strong knowledge of commercial credit, financial analysis, and loan structuring.
- The ability to evaluate financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and overall credit risk.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong business judgment and the ability to balance growth with responsible risk management.
- A highly professional, responsive, and relationship-oriented approach to client service.
- The confidence to prospect for new relationships and the discipline to nurture existing ones.
- A strong understanding of the Richardson/Dallas business community and local market is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or a related field preferred.
