Lead Relationships. Drive Growth. Shape the Future.

Are you the kind of banking professional who sees a balance sheet as more than numbers and a client relationship as more than a quarterly check-in? This is an opportunity to step into a Vice President, Corporate Banking role where your expertise, relationships, strategic thinking, and ability to get things done will have a meaningful impact.

Our client is seeking a polished, commercially minded banking leader to join its Dallas team and take ownership of a sophisticated portfolio of corporate relationships. This is a high-visibility opportunity for someone who knows how to uncover opportunities, structure creative financial solutions, navigate complex credit decisions, and become the person clients call when the stakes are high.

The VP, Corporate Banking will serve as a trusted advisor to middle-market and corporate clients, delivering a full spectrum of financial solutions across commercial lending, treasury management, capital markets, credit, and other banking products. You will work closely with internal credit, risk, treasury, investment banking, and product partners to bring clients solutions that actually fit their businesses rather than simply checking boxes.

Dallas is a market filled with ambitious companies, major industries, and big financial opportunities. This role puts you right in the middle of it.

What You'll Do

  • Own, grow, and deepen a portfolio of sophisticated corporate banking relationships while developing long-term partnerships built on trust, responsiveness, and financial expertise.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to business owners, executives, CFOs, treasurers, and other key decision-makers, gaining a deep understanding of their businesses, industries, capital structures, and future objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, referrals, market intelligence, networking, and existing client relationships.
  • Develop creative and customized lending strategies, including revolving credit facilities, term loans, acquisition financing, working capital solutions, and other complex corporate financing structures.
  • Analyze financial statements, cash flow, leverage, liquidity, debt capacity, collateral, industry trends, and overall creditworthiness to develop sound recommendations.
  • Prepare and present credit proposals, relationship reviews, annual reviews, and other materials for senior leadership and credit committees.
  • Partner closely with Credit, Risk, Treasury Management, Capital Markets, Investment Banking, and other product specialists to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to expand relationships through treasury services, deposits, capital markets, foreign exchange, wealth solutions, and other appropriate financial products.
  • Lead negotiations regarding pricing, structure, covenants, collateral, repayment terms, and other credit considerations while balancing client needs with disciplined risk management.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of portfolio performance, covenant compliance, exposure, concentrations, profitability, and emerging risks.
  • Stay ahead of economic conditions, industry trends, competitive activity, and market developments that could affect clients and the broader portfolio.
  • Participate in client meetings, management presentations, credit discussions, prospect calls, industry events, and community activities that strengthen the bank's presence in the Dallas market.
  • Collaborate with junior bankers and internal partners, providing mentorship, guidance, and leadership while helping build a high-performing corporate banking culture.
  • Maintain strict adherence to regulatory requirements, credit policies, risk frameworks, and internal controls.
  • Become the internal quarterback for complex client opportunities, keeping multiple teams aligned and transactions moving from idea to execution.

What Makes You Successful

You are commercially driven without being reckless. Analytical without getting buried in spreadsheets. Relationship-oriented without losing sight of the numbers.

The ideal candidate brings:

  • 7+ years of progressive commercial or corporate banking experience, with significant exposure to relationship management, credit, and business development.
  • Proven success managing and growing a profitable corporate or middle-market portfolio.
  • Strong understanding of commercial credit, financial analysis, underwriting, and complex lending structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to originate new relationships and expand existing ones.
  • Exceptional financial acumen with the ability to translate complicated financial information into clear business recommendations.
  • Experience working with executive-level clients and navigating sophisticated financial conversations.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to balance revenue generation with thoughtful, disciplined risk management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; advanced education is a plus.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and the confidence to pursue opportunities rather than waiting for them to arrive.

The Personality We're Looking For

This isn't a role for someone who wants to simply inherit a portfolio and maintain the status quo.

We're looking for someone who is curious, competitive, strategic, personable, and exceptionally good at connecting dots. You know how to walk into a room with a CFO and have a meaningful conversation about growth, capital, risk, and opportunity. You can dig into a complicated credit request, ask the questions others missed, and still pick up the phone afterward to strengthen the relationship.

You understand that great corporate banking is part finance, part strategy, part sales, and a very large part of earning trust.

Most importantly, you bring the judgment to know when to push, when to pause, and when to build the deal differently.

Why This Opportunity?

This is more than another VP title on a business card.

It's an opportunity to build relationships that matter, influence meaningful transactions, expand a market presence, and make your mark within a growing corporate banking platform. You will have the visibility, resources, and internal partnership necessary to pursue sophisticated opportunities while working alongside talented professionals across the organization.

The Dallas market offers tremendous room for growth, and this position is designed for a banker who wants to be part of that growth rather than simply watch it happen.

Compensation & Benefits

$140,000–$170,000 base salary, plus performance incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.

Additional offerings may include health, dental and vision coverage, retirement savings, paid time off, professional development, wellness resources, and other competitive benefits.

Ready to Make Your Next Move Count?

If you're an accomplished corporate banker who wants more than a portfolio to manage, this could be the opportunity to build something substantial.

Bring your relationships. Bring your credit expertise. Bring your ambition. We'll bring the platform and the opportunity.
