VP Deposit Relationship Manager
West Los Angeles, CA | $140,000–$180,000+
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a VP Deposit Relationship Manager who knows that great banking relationships are built on more than account numbers and quarterly goals. You’re a relationship builder, opportunity spotter, trusted advisor, and strategic thinker who can walk into a conversation with a client and come out with a deeper relationship, stronger deposits, and a few new ideas.
This is a role for someone who enjoys the people side of banking just as much as the numbers. You’ll develop and manage meaningful client relationships, uncover deposit opportunities, collaborate across the bank, and help clients find solutions that actually make sense for their businesses.
If you’re the person clients call when they need a banker who understands their world, this could be your kind of desk.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, deepen, and retain commercial deposit relationships throughout the West LA market.
- Build a strong portfolio through networking, referrals, prospecting, community involvement, and existing client relationships.
- Identify opportunities to increase core deposits, treasury services, cash management, and other relationship-based banking solutions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding each client’s business, goals, challenges, and financial needs.
- Partner with commercial lenders, treasury professionals, credit teams, and other banking partners to deliver a complete client experience.
- Proactively manage the relationship lifecycle, from initial prospecting through onboarding, retention, expansion, and ongoing service.
- Analyze client relationships to uncover opportunities for deeper wallet share and increased profitability.
- Develop and execute calling plans designed to generate new business and strengthen existing relationships.
- Maintain a strong understanding of deposit products, treasury management solutions, pricing, profitability, and competitive market conditions.
- Participate in local business and community activities to expand visibility and develop new relationships.
- Maintain accurate client, pipeline, and activity records while staying focused on revenue-producing activities.
- Work closely with internal partners to ensure clients receive responsive, knowledgeable, and personalized service.
- Keep an eye on market trends and emerging opportunities because the best relationship managers are rarely sitting still.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Proven experience in commercial banking, relationship management, deposit gathering, treasury management, or a closely related banking discipline.
- Demonstrated success developing and retaining profitable commercial client relationships.
- Strong knowledge of commercial deposit products and cash management solutions.
- A genuine talent for business development and networking.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to understand a client's business and translate financial needs into practical banking solutions.
- Strong financial and analytical instincts with an understanding of relationship profitability.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing a book of business while actively pursuing new opportunities.
- Professional presence with the confidence to engage business owners, executives, CFOs, controllers, and other decision-makers.
- A collaborative mindset. You know when to lead the conversation and when to bring in the right banking expert.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent banking experience preferred.
The Personality We’re Looking For
You don't have to be the loudest person in the room. You do need to be the person people remember.
You’re curious. You’re personable. You ask good questions. You follow through. You can talk strategy with a business owner, discuss deposits with a CFO, and still make the conversation feel human.
Most importantly, you understand that relationships are earned, not assigned. You bring energy, credibility, and a little personality to banking without losing sight of the numbers.
Compensation
$140,000–$180,000+ base salary, with additional earning potential based on experience and performance.
