VP/SVP Relationship Manager
Los Angeles | Encino | Glendale, CA
Salary: $160,000 – $220,000
Build Relationships. Create Opportunities. Lead With Purpose.
An outstanding opportunity is available for an experienced VP/SVP Relationship Manager who knows that exceptional banking is built on more than transactions. It is built on relationships, trust, responsiveness, sound judgment, and a genuine understanding of what makes a business successful.
This position is designed for a seasoned commercial banking professional who can confidently manage and grow a sophisticated portfolio while actively developing new business throughout the Los Angeles, Encino, and Glendale markets. The right individual will bring an established network of business owners, executives, professionals, and centers of influence, along with the ability to turn those relationships into meaningful, long-term opportunities.
This is a relationship-driven role for someone who enjoys being out in the market, having conversations, opening doors, solving problems, and becoming the person clients call when they need a thoughtful financial partner. You will have the opportunity to deepen existing relationships, identify new prospects, structure credit solutions, and collaborate across the organization to deliver a comprehensive banking experience.
What You'll Do
- Develop, manage, and expand a commercial banking portfolio with an emphasis on relationship depth, retention, profitability, and long-term growth.
- Prospect for new commercial relationships through an established network and consistent involvement within the local business community.
- Build trusted relationships with business owners, executives, investors, professionals, and other key decision-makers.
- Identify opportunities for commercial lending, deposits, treasury management, cash management, and other financial services.
- Conduct thoughtful discovery with clients to understand their businesses, financial objectives, challenges, opportunities, and future plans.
- Structure and present credit opportunities that appropriately balance client needs, relationship objectives, and sound banking practices.
- Analyze financial statements, cash flow, collateral, guarantor strength, industry conditions, and overall credit risk.
- Prepare and present loan requests and supporting documentation in accordance with established credit standards and policies.
- Partner closely with Credit, Treasury Management, Portfolio Management, Credit Administration, and other internal teams to deliver solutions efficiently.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of each client's financial position, industry, ownership structure, borrowing needs, and relationship strategy.
- Identify opportunities to deepen relationships rather than simply adding individual products.
- Monitor portfolio performance and proactively address developing risks or changing client circumstances.
- Maintain strong credit quality while pursuing meaningful portfolio growth.
- Participate in community, industry, professional, and networking events that strengthen market visibility and business development.
- Develop and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects and relationship opportunities.
- Take ownership of the client experience from initial conversation through ongoing relationship management.
- Serve as a knowledgeable and accessible resource for clients navigating growth, acquisitions, working capital needs, expansion, refinancing, capital expenditures, and other financial decisions.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and accountability in every client interaction.
- Represent the organization throughout the Los Angeles, Encino, and Glendale markets with credibility and enthusiasm.
What We're Looking For
- Significant commercial banking and relationship management experience.
- Demonstrated success developing, managing, and growing a commercial loan and deposit portfolio.
- Strong understanding of commercial credit, financial analysis, loan structuring, and relationship profitability.
- Established relationships and market knowledge within the Los Angeles area are highly valued.
- Proven ability to generate new business while maintaining and expanding existing client relationships.
- Strong financial statement and cash-flow analysis skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal banking partners.
- Strong business development instincts and a genuine interest in building relationships.
- Ability to balance growth objectives with disciplined credit and risk management.
- Professional presence and the confidence to work with sophisticated business owners and executives.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A reputation for integrity, responsiveness, relationship ownership, and follow-through.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a market filled with established businesses, growing companies, entrepreneurs, professionals, and commercial opportunities. You will have the platform to leverage your experience, expand your network, deepen client relationships, and help businesses move from today's goals toward tomorrow's possibilities.
If you are a VP or SVP-level Relationship Manager who knows how to cultivate relationships, uncover opportunities, manage risk, and deliver thoughtful financial solutions, this role offers the chance to bring your experience to a team that values initiative, expertise, and genuine client partnership.
